- On March 11 and 12, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, EGALE and the SSHRC Partnership Age-Friendly Communities in Communities: International Promising Practices launch the new research report, “Its Got to be About Safety”: Public Services that Work for LGBTQ2+ Older Adults and LGBTQ2+ Workers in Canada.
Researched and written by School of Social Work PhD student Christine Streeter and Associate Professor, Susan Braedley, along with researchers at the Canadian Union of Public Employees and Egale, this is the first report to clearly connect the conditions of work for LGBTQ2+ workers and services safety and accessibility for LGBTQ2+ seniors.
The events will provide a brief overview of the report, followed by commentary and reaction from LGBTQ2+ older adults and workers and discussion with those attending.
